Senior Pastor Eddie Honeycutt

Greetings from the staff of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. I am privileged to serve as Senior Pastor of this warm and friendly congregation. We extend to you an open invitation to join our church family here at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. As a family we love one another and work together to provide an atmosphere where everyone can feel welcome, loved, and accepted.

Let me introduce my family. Patty and I were married in 1974. We have three children and four grandchildren. Angel is married to Jason Dorsett and they live in Mount Airy, NC. Angel is an office manager and Jason is an assistant principal at Mount Airy High School. They are proud parents of three children: Christopher, Evan, and Elizabeth. Cory is married to Amy McCall and they live in Hendersonville, NC where they both serve on staff at Mud Creek Baptist Church. They have one son, Rhett.  Jared, our youngest, lives at home. Jared is continuing his education and is employed at the corporate office of Amaar Garage Doors. I am truly blessed with a wonderful wife, and we both are blessed with a wonderful family.

We have been privileged to serve in three ministries prior to coming to First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. Our first ministry was in Hiddenite, NC where I pastored Sulphur Springs Baptist Church from 1985 until 1991. Our second was in Mount Airy where I served as pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church from 1991 until2003. Our third ministry was in Martinsville, VA where I served as Director of Missions for the Henry County Baptist Association from 2004 until2006.

We are very excited to be a part of this church family and look forward to what God has in store. Please come and join with us as we worship and serve the Lord together

Associate Pastor Ed Locke, Minister of Music and Worship

I extend a warm welcome to you to come and be a part of the music ministry here at Stanleyville. God has already sent a lot of tremendously talented people to this church. I pray that He continues to send talented individuals that are sold out to Him as the music ministry grows. I am so excited to be here with you and join you in what God is doing right here on Ziglar Road.

Here is my family. Donna and I have been married for 20 years this year, and we have no children. We have a Jack Russell Terrier named Fred. Presently, we live with Donna’s mother Betty Stafford until we sell our house in Denver, NC. I would marry Donna all over again. She is the love of my life.

I began my ministry in Winston-Salem in September 1984 right out of seminary at Southside Baptist Church which is where I met Donna and was ordained there, and we were there till 1989. From there, we went to Rocky Mount, NC to Englewood Baptist Church 1989-1997. Next, we served at Denver Baptist Church in Denver NC 1997-2007. Then God said it was time to move to Stanleyville and be a part of you wonderful folks. Again, we are very blessed to be in the church family here at Stanleyville First Baptist.

Colossians 3:16 & 17 KJV states:
Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom… teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.

This is my heart’s desire in music ministry, and there is room for you! Let’s praise the Lord together in the choir, and in the upcoming choirs and ensembles. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through each of us!

Associate Pastor Terry Rausch Jr., Student Ministries

I was saved by the grace of God when Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I accepted that gift of His grace at the age of 4 and a half and experienced God calling me into ministry when I was 19. Finally, when I was 30, I could no longer avoid God's call and I surrendered to His plan for my life. As I stepped out in faith, He provided a position as Pastor's Assistant here at First Baptist Stanleyville. I currently serve as Associate Pastor over Student Ministries.

I married my beautiful bride, Michelle, in May of 1993 and God blessed us with a wonderful son, Christopher, in August of 1994. I am presently attending Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute in Hendersonville, NC where I am working toward an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies.
